Phoenix Shower Screen Company Hits #1 on Google Maps in 90 Days
The Situation
Arizona Frameless Glass had been installing frameless shower screens and glass enclosures in Phoenix for seven years. Their work was excellent — a five-star reputation with existing customers and strong word-of-mouth in the east valley.
The problem was online visibility. They were sitting on page three of Google Maps for “frameless shower installation Phoenix” and “shower glass company Phoenix.” Every week, calls were going to competitors with weaker portfolios but stronger local SEO.
Their Google Business Profile had 14 reviews, no photos of recent work, and the business description was a single generic sentence. Their website had no dedicated shower screen page — all services were listed on one page under a heading called “What We Do.”
The owner had tried running Google Ads independently. The campaigns were targeting broad match keywords, sending traffic to the homepage, and spending $900/month with no call tracking. He had no idea if any of it was working.
What We Did
Phase 1 — Google Business Profile Overhaul
The GBP was the first priority. We rebuilt the profile from scratch:
- Updated the primary category to Glass & Mirror Shop and added Shower Door & Enclosure as a secondary category
- Rewrote the business description with keyword-rich copy covering the services and service areas
- Uploaded 34 high-quality photos of completed installations — frameless, semi-frameless, and framed enclosures across different bathroom styles
- Added all 11 suburbs served as service areas
- Built a review request system: text message template sent to every customer at job completion, linking directly to the GBP review form
Within the first 30 days, the profile went from 14 reviews to 29.
Phase 2 — Dedicated Landing Pages
We built three service-specific pages on the website:
/frameless-shower-screens-phoenix//glass-shower-enclosures-scottsdale//shower-screen-installation-tempe/
Each page was structured around the specific search intent for that area — H1 targeting the city + service, LocalBusiness schema markup, click-to-call above the fold, and a short before/after gallery of real jobs.
Phase 3 — Local Citations
We audited their existing citations across 40 directories. Name, address, and phone number were inconsistent across 22 of them — different phone number formats, old address, misspelled business name. We corrected every listing and added them to 11 directories where they were missing entirely.
Phase 4 — Google Ads Restructure
The existing campaigns were paused and rebuilt from scratch. We moved from broad match to phrase and exact match only, rebuilt the keyword list around high-intent terms, and pointed all traffic to the new city-specific landing pages with call tracking wired in.
The Results
By day 45:
- Google Maps position moved from page three to position 4 in the Phoenix map pack
- 19 new reviews added (33 total, up from 14)
- GBP views up 340%
By day 90:
- Position 1 in the Google Maps pack for “frameless shower installation Phoenix”
- Position 2 for “shower glass company Phoenix”
- 22 inbound calls in the first full month of map pack ranking
Google Ads (after restructure):
- Cost per lead dropped from $95 to $31
- Click-through rate up from 2.1% to 7.8%
- Conversion rate up from 4% to 18%
The owner’s words: “I was spending almost a grand a month on ads and didn’t know what was working. Now I know exactly where every call comes from — and the calls are actually coming in.”
Key Takeaways
- GBP optimisation was the single highest-ROI action. It cost no ad spend and delivered the #1 map pack position within 90 days.
- Citation consistency matters more than most business owners realise. 22 inconsistent listings were actively suppressing the map pack ranking.
- Dedicated landing pages per city dramatically improve both organic rankings and ad conversion rates. One generic “services” page does neither well.
- Call tracking is non-negotiable. Without it, you can’t prove what’s working — and you can’t improve what you can’t measure.
