The Situation

Sunshine State Windows had been installing and repairing windows across the greater Orlando area for nine years. They did good work, had a decent reputation, and had survived entirely on referrals, repeat business, and occasional Angi leads.

The Starting Point

When we audited his online presence:

Month 1 — Foundation

Google Business Profile:

  • Corrected all 18 inconsistent citations
  • Added to 14 new directories: Yelp, Bing Places, Apple Maps, BBB, Houzz, Angi (kept for citation value, paused paid leads), Chamber of Commerce, and 7 niche home improvement directories

Blog content:

  • Published 4 blog posts targeting informational queries: “how long do windows last,” “signs you need window replacement,” “single vs double glazing Florida,” “how to stop window drafts”
  • Each post internally linked to the relevant service page

Local links:

  • Secured 3 local links: Orlando Chamber of Commerce member listing, a citation on a local home renovation blog, and a manufacturer directory listing (they were already installing a national brand’s windows)

Month 3 — Refinement

  • Reviewed and expanded the top-performing service pages based on Search Console data
  • Added FAQ schema to all 6 service pages
  • Published 3 more blog posts targeting comparison queries: “window repair vs replacement,” “vinyl vs aluminium windows Orlando,” “how much does window replacement cost in Florida”
  • Built 2 suburb-specific landing pages: /window-repair-kissimmee/ and /window-installation-winter-park/

Month 4 — Results

By the end of month 4, organic traffic had grown steadily each week. Search Console was showing impressions and clicks across 40+ queries.

What Made It Work

Reviews were the fastest win. Going from 8 to 31 reviews in 30 days moved the GBP from invisible to competitive almost immediately. Review velocity is the most underrated ranking factor in local SEO.

Service pages, not a services page. Six dedicated pages with specific content dramatically outperformed the previous single-page approach. Google can rank a page about “window repair Orlando” — it cannot rank a page about “all the things we do.”

Content answered real questions. Blog posts targeting “how long do windows last” and “signs you need window replacement” captured homeowners in the research phase — and converted them via internal links to the service pages.

Patience in month one pays in month four. SEO compounds. The work done in month one created the base for the rankings achieved in month four. There are no shortcuts — but there is a process.
